Bazo earns call-up

NATIONAL team interim coach Beston Chambeshi has named 30 local players for the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers, with Nkana striker Alex Ng’onga making a return to the team after helping the Kitwe side survive relegation last season with some crucial goals.
The team is expected to go in camp today and will start training tomorrow.
Chambeshi has included a crop of experienced and young players, among them 2020 Cosafa Under-20 golden boot winner Joseph Sabobo Banda and NAPSA Stars’ Jimmy Mukeya, who will be returning to the team after making a debut at the regional tournament under sacked Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic last month.
Chambeshi said during a media briefing yesterday that he has recalled Ng’onga, popularly known as Bazo, to the team because of the good form he exhibited after making the switch from Power Dynamos to Nkana last season.
