BAZ urges public to comply with TPIN submission

NALISHEBO NAMAIKO, Lusaka
THE Bankers Association of Zambia (BAZ) has urged the public to comply with Tax Payer Identification Number (TPIN) submission ahead of today’s deadline.
About 780,000 people have registered for TPIN from inception in January 2017 to October 2018.
BAZ public relations officer Miriam Zimba said the association hoped to reach a 100 percent target by 31st December, as so far, 50 percent of account holders have complied with TPIN registration.
Ms Zimba said TPIN registration is law and failure to comply will result in freezing of bank accounts.
“It will be a great loss to the banks if customers fail to submit their TPIN as this will result in the banks and Government losing out on revenue.
“We have kept emphasising to our customers that they should provide details to our banks. There is no need to be sceptical, accessing TPIN is an easy process http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
