GOVERNMENT says the construction of Bangweulu General Hospital in Luwingu district in Northern Province will start before the end of this year.
Northern Province Minister Brian Mundubile said Government is currently concluding the tendering process before a contract is awarded to construct the hospital.
“The tendering and evaluation procedures have been done and we expect the works to start before the end of the year,” he said.
Mr Mundubile said the project will be executed within two years and will cater for patients from surrounding districts.
The minister assured that Government is committed to delivering quality health care to its people through the construction of health facilities.
Mr Mundubile said once completed, the hospital in Bangweulu will also provide training for nurses.
Mr Mundubile said Government wants to ensure that the construction of the health posts that are currently being built is completed.
