Bailiffs seize Zanaco property

LINDA NYONDO, Lusaka
BAILIFFS yesterday seized some property from the Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco) head office in Lusaka.
Some of the items seized were computers, chairs and tables.
The seizure of properties was confirmed in a statement issued by the company’s head of corporate affairs Joy Sata.
“The bailiffs were actioning a claim on the bank based on a legacy court case where judgement was passed by the Supreme Court against Zanaco,” Mrs Sata said.
She said that a stay of execution of judgement has been obtained pending assessment of claim.
“Zanaco wishes to inform its customers and the general public that the bank is operating normally,” Mrs Sata said.
She said the bank cannot give further detail on the matter because the case that led to seizure of property is in court.
