THE Lusaka Avocado Multipurpose Cooperative (LAMC) will spend K20 million on setting up an avocado plantation and outgrower scheme in Chief Munkanta’s chiefdom in Kawambwa.
LAMC chairperson Bernard Chiwala said in a statement on Tuesday that the avocado plantation is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs for the local people.
Mr Chiwala said the plantation will help improve income levels of families that will participate in the outgrower scheme.
“The establishment of the avocado plantation in Kawambwa is expected to bring development in the district,” he said.
