Auditor testifies against insurers in forgery case

CHOMBA MUSIKA, Lusaka
A MAGISTRATE has heard that valuation reports submitted to the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) by three insurers accused of forgery had some discrepancies.
PIA audit and risk manager Chitoshi Mutabukilangombe testified that the valuation reports for three Marshlands Consortium Limited directors had inconsistencies on the size of land indicated in the reports and also on title deeds.
This is in a case the three directors are facing 15 counts of forgery, obtaining money by false pretences and uttering false documents, which include shareholder resolutions for Ultimate Insurance Company Limited.
The accused are Tobias Milambo, 48, a chartered insurer of Woodlands Township in Lusaka; Nachi Musonda, 33, an insurer of Chongwe district; and Richard Lubemba, 31, also an insurer of Chalala Township in Lusaka.
