Assembly maintain cruise, Indeni close in on Kitwe

NATIONAL Assembly on Sunday maintained a six point lead at the summit of Division One Zone One after thumping Young Green Buffaloes in

a Week 17 match in Lusaka.
Oswald Mutapa’s side scored through Dampani Lungu, Stephen Mutama and Peter Mwangani to ensure the team remained on course to bounce back to the topflight.
The win pushed Assembly to 42 points, six above second placed Lusaka City Council (LCC).

In Zone Two, Indeni closed the gap with leaders Kitwe United after battling to a draw with Roan United at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya.
Indeni have 31 points, one behind leaders Kitwe United who settled for a barren draw with First Quantum Minerals Operations (FQM) Roads.
Striker Cephas Handavu put Indeni ahead on 75 minutes but the home side restored parity through Esprit Kasongo.
