Assembly edge Police College, Kitwe United win

NATIONAL Assembly on Sunday opened up a four-point lead at the summit of Division One Zone One after beating Police College in a Week Eight match.

Site Mweshi and Peter Mwangani contributed a goal apiece to ensure the Osward Mutapa-mentored side collected maximum points at National Housing Authority Grounds.

Assembly have 20 points, four better than Lundazi United, who lost 2-1 to Paramilitary.
In Zone Two, Kitwe United have maintained their lead at the pinnacle of Division One Zone Two after overcoming Mufulira Blackpool in a thrilling encounter at Garden Park Stadium.
Striker Emmanuel Chabule opened the scoring in the 64th minute before Holy Songwe sealed victory on 78 minutes to ensure the ‘Buchi Boys’ remain on course to bounce back to the elite league.
Danny Kabaso pulled one for Blackpool.
The victory pushed Kitwe to 17 points at par with Kansanshi Dynamos and First Quantum Minerals Roads but the former have a healthier goal difference.
In Monze, and in Zone Four, New Monze Swallows beat Zamcoal Diggers to move to top slot with 19 points, three clear of second-placed Young Green Eagles.
