ZAMBIA Army commander Lieutenant General Paul Mihova has promoted 400m runner Kabange Mupopo to the rank of staff sergeant following her good showing at the International Athletes Associations Federation World Championship in London.

Mihova said in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday that despite Mupopo not winning a medal, the Army is happy that she put up a good fight.
Mupopo reached the final where she finished seventh with 51.15 seconds failing to beat her personal best time of 50.22 seconds.
Mihova said the Zambia Army takes pride in contributing athletes to national teams of various sports disciplines.
