LUSAKA is currently experiencing a shortage of fish, mainly tilapia that has been attributed to high demand from the public.
Aquaculture Development Association of Zambia president Fisho Mwale said there is high demand for fish and has since called for more investment from the private sector to cushion the impact of the shortage.
The country’s total fish consumption per annum is about 160,000 metric tonnes with a deficit of about 40,000 metric tonnes.
