Anti-religion ministry stance shocks churches

CATHERINE MUMBA, Lusaka
THE Apostolic Council of Churches (ACOC) says it is highly unethical and mind boggling for some church mother bodies to oppose the formation of the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs on the basis of the financial and economic challenges the country is facing.
ACOC president Chinyama Mutunda said in a statement yesterday that good financial and economic management values are attained when Christian values and ethics are entrenched in both state and private institutions.
“The formation of the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs is, therefore, among other efforts cardinal in promoting a comprehensive approach to development whereas the ministry will serve as a platform to enhance moral guidance,” he said.READ MORE
