AL AHLY coach Hossam Elbadry has described Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba as a top trainer.
Elbadry said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that Numba has transformed Zanaco into one of the top teams in Africa.
Al Ahly tackle Zanaco tomorrow in the CAF Champions League Group D clash at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
The Bankers lead the group with 10 points, three better than Al Ahly, while Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca have six points. Coton Sport of Cameroon have nothing.
“Mumamba Numba is a very good coach. I am not surprised that Zanaco are at the top of the group. They have a good coach and their players are fighters. They fight as a team, that is one of their strengths,” Elbadry said.
He also said Numba was a good player and his tactics are working well for his charges.
Numba featured for Konkola Blades, Zanaco and the national team.
Elbadry, however, said the record eight-time Champions League holders are in Zambia for business.
And Zambia Sports Fans Association patron Peter Makembo has called on the nation to rally behind Zanaco.
