Airports board pledges hard work

NEW Zambia Airports Corporation Limited board chairperson Milingo Lungu has pledged to work to the expectation of the appointing authority by using the aviation industry to boost local tourism.

Mr Lungu said in an interview on Thursday that he will work tirelessly with other board members to boost local tourism in line with Government’s economic diversification programme.
The seven-member board was inaugurated on Wednesday by Minister of Transport and Communication Brian Mushimba.
“This is a humbling appointment and I am hoping to deliver to the expectation of the appointing authority. I bring to the board my vast experience, having worked in both Government and the private sector,” he said.
Other board members include Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry executive director Prisca Chikwashi, Patriotic Front media director Sunday Chanda and Ministry of Transport and Communication director of corporate strategy for mobilisation, Nicholas Chikwenya.
The rest are Ministry of Finance permanent secretary for budget Pamela Kabamba, former Fastjet Zambia head of commercial department Patricia Zimba and Zambia Revenue Authority director corporate strategy for modernisation Moonga Mumba.
And Mr Chanda said he will put the interest of the country first in the execution of his duties as a board member.
“I am going in this board to represent all Zambian and I will work to the best of my ability to serve everyone’s interest,” he said.
