The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has instituted investigations regarding suspected abuse of public funds at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
ACC head of public relations Timothy Moono confirmed in a statement yesterday that the investigations, which started last year, are connected to the revelations in the Auditor General’s report and other reports of corruption.
The Times of Zambia and The Mast have previously run stories regarding a cartel at the Ministry of Finance that has been involved in siphoning of public funds.
“I wish to confirm that the Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating allegations of abuse of office at the Ministry of Finance,” Mr Moono said.
“Investigations which were instituted follow revelations of suspected abuse of public funds. Investigations are ongoing. “With regards to the Auditor General’s report, we do analyse that report and establish areas which require the commission to intervene and it is in those areas which relate to the mandate of CLICK TO READ MORE
