A 23-YEAR-OLD woman of Mafinga, Muchinga Province, has drowned in a stream after suffering an epileptic attack while picking vegetables from the garden.
Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) member Koffi Ng’ambi, 41, reported that Monica Nachinga, of Chitapo village, drowned on Sunday between 07:00 hours and 10:00 hours.
Muchinga Province deputy commanding officer Ronald Zambo said Ms Nachinga was left home by her parents, who had gone to their maize field.
Later, she decided to leave for the garden near the stream to pick some vegetables.
“The victim suffered an epilepsy attack while she was picking vegetables and she fell into the stream and drowned,” he said.
She was later discovered dead in the stream by her parents, after which her body was removed.
Police found her bleeding from the mouth with whitish fluid oozing from her nose after inspecting the body.
Mr Zambo said relatives have been advised to bury the victim and mark the grave due to logistical challenges. https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
