$55m for Ndola roads

GOVERNMENT has awarded a US$55 million contract to Poly Technologies of China to design, construct and rehabilitate 42.9 kilometres of selected roads in Ndola.
Ndola City Council director of engineering Simasiku Malumo said the works will start this month.
“The Chinese contractor is already in the district to set up a base in readiness for the commencement of the project,” Mr Malumo said when he led the contractor to pay a courtesy call on Copperbelt permanent secretary Howard Sikwela.
Mr Malumo said the project is expected to be completed in August 2018.
And Reverend Sikwela said Government was excited to see development taking shape in Ndola with the construction of roads that includes the C-400 project.
