48 houses in court

THE forfeiture of 48 houses in Chalala still stands because it is legal and the two Tanzanians who have sued the State claiming ownership of the properties have no permit for them to invest in Zambia.
In its submission before the Lusaka High Court, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it will state at trial that it complied with the Disposal of Recovered Property Regulations Act of 2004 when it seized the houses.
ACC will show that there is no record showing that plaintiffs, Uziel Bashire and Zuberi Bigawa, were granted a permit for them to invest in Zambia.
