GOVERNMENT has completed the construction of four health posts in Kalulushi on the Copperbelt Province out of the nine allocated to the district.
Kalulushi district commissioner Kenny Siachisumo said in an interview yesterday that the construction of four health posts will help mitigate challenges faced by people in accessing health care services.
“The people are delighted to have the medical facilities near to them because they used to face a lot of challenges,” Mr Siachisumo said.
He said the project underscores Government’s commitment to taking quality health care services closer to the people, and that it is also a fulfilment of what the Patriotic Front (PF) promised the people prior to forming government.
“My Government is constructing the health posts with the aim of taking health care services right at people’s door-steps and ensuring equal access to cost-effective and quality health services among our citizens,” Mr Siachisumo said.
He said the health posts will help improve maternal and child health in Kalulushi.
The new health posts are Kafubu Depot, Kalangwa South, Denovan and Chiwembashi and two of these have since been opened.
