THE search for the new music sensation in the Dreams Zambia music reality television show moved to Livingstone last weekend where 24 contestants

were picked to later compete with 75 others from three other regions.
The auditions, held at the Post Office grounds, saw a number of youths trying out their luck at singing in various genres.
Today, the auditions move to Levy Business in Park in Lusaka where the Lusaka hopefuls will be screened by the panel of judges that includes rapper Cleo Ice Queen and disc jockey Kenny Tonga.
Dreams producer Freddy Chileshe told the Weekend Mail that this season’s competition is called Zambezi Magic season one even though there has been four other successful seasons that were aired on ZNBC TV.
“This season, we will be aired on [DStv] Zambezi Magic which has a wider audience and a couple of African countries will be watching,” Freddy said.
The Dreams team hopes to come up with 100 contestants at the end of the auditions which will take in Kitwe, Chipata, Livingstone and Lusaka.
The top three winners will be awarded with holidays to South Africa and a recording deal for one song each which will also be promoted.
“The grand prize will be K100,000 and the two runners up will walk away with K25,000 cash each,” he said.
Freddy says the response has so far been overwhelming with a lot of young hopefuls attending the auditions.
