THE fifth National Rally Championship revs off today with drivers jostling for honours in the Meanwood-sponsored Monze Rally in Southern Province.
With leader Farook Ticklay and his wife Jasmeen Singh, who is his navigator, set to maintain grip, second-placed Mohammed Essa is also geared to close the gap as he challenges for the 2018 title.
The former African champion returned to competition this year in a Subaru Impreza N16 after a three-year break and his comeback has so far been a worthy ride.
Despite Essa’s car being superior, Farook will rely on home ground advantage to extend his lead.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
