Dear editor,
NOW that Parliamentary sittings are under way, the process that Government has embarked on to do amendments to the Consti¬tution of Zambia should also lead to enhancing the bill of rights to include economic, social rights as this can only be done by holding a suc¬cessful referendum.
My humble advice to Government is to do a cost-effective referendum by tying it to the 2021 general elections. This is to ensure that preparatory measures are in place and come up with a board in charge of a referendum which can commence operations next year.
This should prepare peo¬ple’s minds in order for them to understand this impor¬tant undertaking.
