THE Ministry of Finance says the 2018 national budget will be presented to Parliament on September 29 this year and has urged stakeholders to continue providing their input as consultations are still on-going.
And Governemnt has provided US$42.2 million on lending and grant agreement to Western Water and Sewerage Company for water and sanitation programmes in Mongu, Sesheke, Senanga and Kaoma districts in the province.
Minister of Finance Felix Mutati said the government is in the process of finalising consultations and blending of some budget proposals from institutions and individuals with the government’s vision for development.
This is according to a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday by Ministry of Finance public relations officer Chileshe Kandenta.
“The final consultative meeting will be held with Copperbelt-based economic sector players to reach common grounds on administrative priority action which is needed to promote Zambian entrepreneurs in the predominantly mining province.
Meanwhile, New Zealand and Zambia have signed a framework development co-operation agreement to facilitate the enhancement of economic and technical support between the two countries.
Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba signed the agreement on behalf of Zambia while Mike Burell, newly-accredited High Commissioner of New Zealand to Zambia, signed on behalf of his country.
Under the agreement, New Zealand, one of the world’s largest producers of beef and dairy products, will provide a grant for the implementation of the Zambia Dairy Transformation Programme.
