‘Facing Nigeria will give U-20 insight of way forward’

UNDER-20 national team skipper Dominic Kanda says today’s friendly against Nigeria will give the team a litmus test ahead of the Egypt Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations kicking off on February 19.

The young Chipolopolo left for Nigeria on Wednesday and arrived yesterday about midday ahead of today’s match against the Flying Eagles at MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. Kanda said the game is the toughest they will be playing from the time they started preparations for the continental championship.

“This is a game that will give us a direction of where we are going in terms of preparations. So we will take it seriously, otherwise all the guys are ready,” he said in an interview. The two teams will face off again on Monday.

Kanda also said they will treat the friendly against Senegal in Dakar next Thursday with the seriousness it deserves.
