A TOTAL of 17,000 girls from less privileged homes will this year be included on the social cash transfer programme to enable them to stay in school, the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health has said.
Meanwhile, Government is in the process of reviewing the non-governmental-organisation (NGO) Act and has so far registered over 500 organisations since 2013.
Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health Emerine Kabanshi said the inclusion of less-privileged girls on the social cash transfer programme is meant to reduce the number of school drop-outs.
Ms Kabanshi said this when she featured on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC)’s Sunday Interview programme.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
