16,000 suppliers register on electronic platform

ABOUT 16,000 suppliers have registered on the electronic government procurement platform, rolled out in 14 ministries and government institutions, with the objective of reducing corruption and delays associated with manual system.
Electronic Government procurement (e-GP) system is simply the processing of procurement information and transactions using the computer and the internet.
In an interview on Monday, Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) principal public relations officer John Chipandwe said all suppliers and procuring entities are now required to register themselves on the e-GP system for them to start using it.
The authority has developed the e-GP system, which is a platform for all electronic government public procurement processes.
