160 smallholder farmers increase production

KALONDE NYATI, Lusaka
OVER 160 smallholder farmers in various parts of the country have increased agricultural productivity through the Bunjimi Asset Plus financing initiative, which provides funding for farming equipment.
NATSAVE chief executive officer Mukwandi Chibesakunda said the initiative, which was launched in partnership with the Zambia National Farmers’ Union (ZNFU) to enhance productivity through mechanised agriculture, has benefited a total of 164 farmers at a cost of K15 million.
Ms Chibesakunda said the initiative will be enhanced to support more smallholder farmers and help them to increase household income.
