16 teams battle in KPF American tournament

DEFENDING champions Red Arrows will need to be at their best to overcome Kitwe select, Nkwazi and Mufulira B in the Kitwe

Playing Field (KPF) American tournament kicking off today.
The airmen defeated ‘Men at Work’ Diggers 6-0 last year to be crowned champions.
Arrows, who have this season bagged the Zambia Rugby Union 10s and Mopani Copper Mines 15s Championship, are in Pool B.
The two-day event has attracted 16 teams.
Arrows must overcome Kitwe Select side to stand a chance of retaining the title.
Coach Mwamba Chishimba will look to internationals Terry Kaushiku, Simon Kapindu, Emmanuel Daka, Edward Mumba and Nigel Chibwe to hit the ground running.
But Kitwe select comprising players from Diggers and KPF will be a hard nut to crack.
Hosts ‘Spoilers’ KPF, Mufulira A,  Konkola and ‘Rampant Lions’ Nchanga will battle it out in Pool A with Diggers, ‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka, Roan and Kansanshi locking horns in Pool C while Pool D comprises Green Buffaloes, Ndola Wanderers, Green Eagles and Chibuluma.
The winners will pocket K10,000 with runners-up settling for K7,500 while third placed finishers will walk away with K3,500.
Plate winners and Plate runners up will get K3,000 and K2,500 respectively.
The player-of-the-tournament and most disciplined player will get K1,000 each.
