15 nabbed for dirtying Bombay

THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) has apprehended 15 more people for discharging effluents into the Bombay drainage, which is part of the US$355 million Lusaka Water Supply, Sanitation and Drainage (LWSSD) project funded by the United States through the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

The improved Bombay drainage system is expected to eliminate flooding and related negative health impacts, thus immediately improving the quality of life of residents, while enhancing traffic flow and protecting the property of households and businesses within the area.
The 15, who claim to be tenants, were apprehended on Friday following an operation conducted by a team of council police, public health inspectors and State police in Lusaka’s Garden compound.
