10 MMD MPs back Lungu

TEN Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) members of Parliament and an independent have endorsed the candidature of President Lungu in the August 11 general elections.
Those who endorsed President Lungu are Isaac Banda (Lumezi), Whitson Banda (Milanzi), Forrie Tembo (Nyimba), Allan Phiri (Chadiza), Peter Phiri (Mkaika), Nicholas Banda (Kapoche), Victoria Kalima (Kasenengwa), Vincent Mwale (Chipangali), Kenneth Chipungu (Rufunsa) and Luangeni independent MP Charles Zulu.
And President Lungu has urged Patriotic Front (PF) leaders to embrace opposition members who are joining the party.
The head of State said PF is bigger than anyone, including himself, hence there is need to work with people from MMD and other parties.
President Lungu said in Chipata yesterday when he addressed a mammoth rally at Mpezeni Park that those who are not willing to work with new members should leave PF.
“I am asking people in the party to incorporate new members in the structures with a view of growing the party bigger,” Mr Lungu said .
